That isn't really a good computer, in the sense of performance. First: you will need to find what kind of mother board you have, and what components are compatible with it. You will need a better CPU, probably about 2.4 GHz or more. You should try to get more RAM too.

If you like eye candy, look for a new graphics card on geeks.com or compUSA.com. I'm going for this: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=NX8400GS-T... Notice the "PCIe" in the product name. This stands for Payment Card Industry Express. This is the type of slot on your mother board you will need to insert this. The graphics card will also speed up your PC, because it conserves RAM.

I assume your mother board isn't going to let you upgrade to much better than a 2.4 GHz processor. For a better processor (3.0-3.4 GHz, or what ever you want.), you may need to buy a new mother board. Most mother boards come with at least one PCIe slot, so you don't have to worry about a different graphics card. You should be fine with just 2.4 GHz, but if you also like video games, you will need at least 3.0 GHz for most games now.

If you are downloading these HD videos, you could need a bigger hard drive. The higher the RPM, the better. This allows for faster storage, thus keeping your computer more efficient.

Now, you will not need very much RAM; I never use more than 1 Gb on my laptop, when I'm watching movies and such. But it's always good to have more RAM - at least 2 Gb. Most video games require about 1 Gb or more.

While streaming videos, you will need a faster connection. You will need to consult with your Internet Service Provider for more details on getting faster internet. I use broadband, and get a connection of 54 Mb/s, and download speeds of up to 1000 Kb/s.

There are several ways of making your computer perform more efficiently. I use Iolo's System Mechanic Pro. It defragments your hard drive and keeps your registry clean. It also enhances your internet connection.

Be sure your RAM is DIMM. This basically means the RAM is faster, and keeps your computer performing better. Be sure the sticks are the same speed, though, because it slow your computer down.

One more software thing: do not download just anything. Ask around, and research it on the internet. If you think something may be bad, then don't download it! Use an anti-virus, and all other forms of protection. The System Mechanic Professional, as mentioned above, has all of these tools.

    Hope I helped.

Ok im getting my A+ Certification right now which is a certification on computer parts. Anyways first off i can tell you, you need more RAM a standard computer now a day has standard about 2GB which is just a little more than double what you have. Then assuming that you don't have a duo or a quad core processor you are only getting 2.00GHz which standard right now is about 2.00GHz but they have at least duo which is in lamense terms is equivalent to 4.00GHz. So if you want a computer that runs smoothly and is able to watch HD videos you are going to need to get a faster processor, about 1 more GB of ram and if you want those videos to look better you should get a good graphics card because i'm assuming yours is not all that great. What some of the other ones said though you need faster internet too which is going to load those videos better but its going to look like crap and just your basic running programs and navigating through things is going to suck without some upgraded hardware

To make your computer run more faster upgrade first the RAM. I can see that you have 960MB of RAM so that's basically 1G try and upgrade to 2G of RAM or higher. With regards to watching HD videos you need to have a video card that supports high definition. You did not post the specs of the video card that you have, getting a video card which supports HD will remove the lags you are experiencing..

You can try buying more RAM, 2 or 4 GB should do it. Then, what graphics card do you have? It would help playing back HD videos dramatically if you have a decent one. And finally, check the speed of your internet, there's little use to a fast computer if your connection is slow.

thats not to bad of a comp. how old is it and what OS do you run?. the biggest diffrence would be RAM. unless you have some experiance with computers id suggest to go to you local computer shop and ask for a ram upgrade :)

That's an internet connection problem, sounds like maybe you should purchase more bandwidth from your ISP (Internet service provider). Your computer hardware is perfectly fine for watching Youtube videos.

you have a nice CPU your dont need to upgrade at all it's usually because of internet connection that videos lag. Let the video load all the way.

You have what would be considered an old PC these days. I suggest you go to 2GB of RAM.
