What should I get him for Christmas?

Rather than getting him art supplies, which I'm sure he already probably has plenty of, you should try to do something artistic yourself and give it to him. Paint or draw a picture, make a sculpture from a bar of soap. I believe it would be much more personal. But if you have no artistic abilities at all, art supplies would probably be the best bet ;)

Does he like funny jokes or funky art?

I would get him like a very big drawing pad, some paint brushes, PENCILS, and maybe a drawing tip book.

you could get him something as simple as a sketchbook, or also i know that barnes and noble has a deal on a pencil case filled with different types of pencils(colored charcoal etc) and it wont break your budget, just incase he doesnt feel the same way
