What makes a Community Organizer/Lawyer qualified to lead healthcare reform?

He's an executive.

That's his job.

A doctor doesn't have to have cancer to treat it.

Well, he is the president and the president is the one who usually leads the charge on big legislation. The president proposes and the legislature disposes. That's how it usually works.

Bill Frist is in the Senate and he could, if he wanted to, propose his own healthcare reform bill. But, unfortunately Republicans don't have any ideas on how to reform healthcare and we need to reform healthcare. Healthcare costs are rising 15-17% a year in this country and that is just not sustainable.

And by the way, I think being first in his class at Harvard Law School is pretty impressive. How many more degrees should a public official have? Bush had a Bachelor's and an MBA, but I'm not even going to comment on his grades.

Obama is the boss. As the leader of the free world that makes him qualified by definition.

How qualified was Frist when he stepped forward trying to influence the Terri Schiavo case?

He gave a right-wing Christian/medical opinion without even seeing the patient...and he was wrong.

He is a discredited biased source and his opinions are suspect..

Excellent point, but the problem IS, he can name a number of "advisers", who MAY be qualified.

Consider, if you will, the number of "czars" he has appointed to handle EVERY OTHER aspect of his Administration!!

He is actually more qualified to read the Evening News, on some network somewhere!!

Your rant of a question makes no sense because you left out his most important job which happens to be President of the United States.

We need laws written by people who have confronted life in the real world, not in a sheltered world of trust fund recipients or in the insulated cocoon of academia.

That's what I'd like to know, I have family and friends who work in the health field and they're absolutely amazed at the insane crap these people are coming up with.

The AMA has endorsed the Obama plan. Bill Frist has his opinion and the rest of the doctors in the AMA have theirs. AARP has also endorsed the plan despite the Health Insurance companies spewing out false propaganda about killing off Grandma and death camps for old people.

He offers well spoken promises to people who will believe anything.
