What is Tony (TS) McPhee (of the Mighty Groundhogs) up to nowadays?

Update:

Thanks for the info so far, I last saw him about 10 years back, when he was playing pub/club gigs in the Shropshire/Worcs area. He had had a stroke then, & (I think) had an ex Hawkwind(?)member playing drums.

I've been fortunate enough to meet him a few times, & he has always been a thoroughly decent bloke. Really p's me off someone as talented as him is now doing pub gigs, & people on X-factor are earning millions. Am listening to 'Split' on Spotify as I type this.

I was just checking out their website a couple of months ago and saw that they cancelled a tour. The Groundhogs were always one of my favorites, but I assumed no one on Y/A would have even heard of them. I still play Black Diamond and Crosscut Saw, my two favorite albums by them. The song "Promiscuity" is an all time classic. TS was definitely a mighty guitarist.

Sad to hear Tony had a stroke. I saw Groundhogs open for The Edgar Winter Group in the summer of 1972, before either were really known in the states. Tony is an incredible slide guitarist, as well as an all-around guitarist.

I remember arguing with a school pal over the "Splits" LP. He said Splits was the name of the band and Groundhogs was the LP name. Silly fight, but we argued fiercely as any rock-blues loving teens would.

Last I heard he'd unfortunately had a stroke and had to pull out of a tour with Focus and a version of Wishbone Ash.
