My husband needs a plate in his arm will he get medically discharged?
My husband broke his arm today and is having surgery on Monday to get a plate put in near his forearm kind of. Will he get discharged for this possibly? I'm hoping not because he was wanting to go active duty.
Hes a 63B all wheeled vehicle mechanic! Doctor just said he could probably take the plate or in 6mths as long as everything heals well.

Depends greatly on his MOS/AFSC/SEC. If he is still capable of performing his duties without risk to himself or others then there is no reason he should be discharged. If it interferes with his duties, then he will likely be discharged or not allowed to re-enlist when the time comes.

Not automatically, no. If he's unable to do his job he might be transferred to another one or possibly discharged. But the military doesn't like to kick people out after they sink money into them.
