Which Samsung TV is a better deal?
The 2 I'm looking at are:
Samsung 40", 1080p, 60Hz LCD $597.99
or
Samsung 42", 720p, 600Hz LCD $547.99
Typically I play Xbox 360, Watch DVDs, watch TV (both shows and sports, but no HD service currently)
Any insight into which deal would be better for me?

I'd pick the LCD for the games, but the Plasma for the rest...unless you are REALLY REALLY well-behaved in not pausing your games, not running it in 4:3 mode, and NOT letting your scoreboards and non-moving icons stay on the Tv any longer than 20 minutes.
Then I'd select that plasma overall....maybe you should just keep an old TV around for the Xbox, and do the rest on your LCD TV set.
Yeah, I'd pick an LCD over the plasma, but not with Xbox, and 60 Hz mixed together.
Now if you Had a 240Hz LCD....by all means turn off the video enhancement 240 Hz mode and run that with Xbox....no enhancements, pure 240 Hz unadulterated refresh rate.
THAT'S what I'd use for gaming....
