Why did ACORN in San Diego dump sensitive documents after being notified of an impending investigation?
Excerpts:
Interestingly, the local head ACORN organizer in California, David Lagstein was caught on tape earlier this month speaking to an East County Democratic Club.
Mr. Lagstein stated: “…the attorney general is a political animal, but certainly every bit of the communication we have had with them has suggested that the fault will be found with the people that did the video and not the people with ACORN.”
Continuing, Mr. Lagstein stated: “…we are fully cooperating, some of the investigators visited our office this morning and I think they really understand what’s going on.”
Shockingly, we now learn that the ACORN office in National City (San Diego County) engaged in a massive document dump on the evening of October 9th, containing thousands upon thousands of sensitive documents, just days prior to the Attorney General’s visit.

What were they trying to hide?

They are trying to prevent the A.G. from being forced to do his job. If the documents are not there, he can declare them clean.
If they are, then the monkey goes on HIS back, and he has deal with it.

Art Vandelay has some serious misconceptions.
"The right" does not hate anyone.
We are upset about the actions of ACORN, as their known and well-documented practices of fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud are a source of great distress to everyone, especially the poor, who will very soon be feeling the worst of the brunt of Obama's efforts and the quagmire of DNC progrommes which have preceded him and given him a platform from which to attack our economy even further.
Yes, the very rich will grow richer, but they are all liberals who got rich by expropriating everyone else's money through questionable practices...

Not necessarily a matter of defending, but Eric Holder should subpoena every single document today...and declare that if any more are released, the private eye will end up at the same defense table as the ACORN director. Playing devil's advocate, the private eye's releasing the papers is probably jeopardizing a prosecution, as ACORN can claim (likely successfully) that it cannot get a fair trial. Prediction: the director of the local office and the private eye both should be arrested and the private eye will end up facing the same charges: unauthorized viewing of documents and failure to protect identities (or the equivalent of California law). Both sides did wrong, as no one knows if this PI is also an ID thief (there are sensitive docs there). As for the documents themselves, the PI could also be on the hook for failing to turn over the documents right away. If he had brains, he would have turned them over to the San Diego County prosecutor's office the next day. Instead, he may be looking at a few years in the clink and as noted before, as a co-defendant. The interesting thing is: Breitbart, the PI, and the ACORN director may all end up as co-defendants (Breitbart may end up in a position where he pleads guilty for probation and turns state's evidence).

Not sure what they are trying to hide, but because the police didn't get there first, they may end up off the hook, legally speaking. No DA is going to be able to make any charges stand; after all, what was in the bags?

They've gone into typical liberal damage control. ACORN got caught with their pants down. The prostitute videos are the tip of the iceberg.

Of course!
Do you have to ask?!
Corruption, thy name is ACORN.
ACORN should be immediately shut down, every account drained, and refunded to the American taxpayer.
--I wonder in the history of American Politics if there has ever been an organization on the receiving end of taxpayer blood money, that is so completely corrupt, so utterly lacking in moral fiber from the top down, so completely bereft of any redeemable qualities whatsoever.

Well let's see, the husband of the head of ACORN was convicted of embezzling. We've got six convictions for voter registration fraud (33,000 counts) in Pennsylvania, we've got more in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago too. And how much whining did we hear from the left over the hanging chads of Miami-Dade and Broward counties? How many years of beaching were we forced to endure of "He stole the election!!!!"? So now, ACORN is suing the government for having cut their funding (temporarily).

ACORN's just being considerate. You know how dull & botring it cab be...rooting through all that paper looking for evidence. Sooo tedious.

Just more typical Dems at work. Hillary with FBI files in her closet, that idiot that got caught sneaking top secret documents in his pants....these people have no shame.
