can I put an igunna in a wire bird cage with a heat rock?
an igunna is being given to me to hold on to till I find a home for it and its way to big for its cage ..... could i keep him in a bird cage with a heat lamp for a while or will he get to cold ...
I live in florida and its not cold here yet its still in the higer 80's at night and he'll have a heat lamp or heat rock .....

Wire cages are just not a good idea with reptiles but if that is all you have then I guess that's life. A heat rock is a good idea as well as a heat lamp, just make sure that there is somewhere cool for him to go if he gets too hot. Put a couple sticks in there for him to climb on and make sure he has some chlorine-free water. Don't worry if he doesn't move around much, Iguanas like to sit around and get warm. Oh, make sure he can't actually reach the heat lamp, as he may burn himself.
