Why do climate deniers say the earth is cooling when 2009 lookslike it will be the 5th warmest year on record?

It seems the globe is not warming as expected. That's why Al Gore changed his catch phrase to "Climate Change". Man Made global warming is based on junk science, and is being used to "fleece" taxpayers and consumers around the world.

If the earth is changing temperature, then its due to natural causes infinitely far beyond our pitiful capacity. The arrogance of those people who think that we Humans can destroy or harm environments on such a global scale is ridiculous.Out of curiosity, is the US alone the 'cause', or are all those other countries with far greater density, and less advanced industry, also to blame? How about the european pointy hats? are they sharing the fault?

Why wasn't 2008 the second warmest on record? Did climate change stop for a year?

You're using the last ~100+ years on a planet that's been here for 4.5 billion.

You're not exactly doing yourself a favor by pointing out the small sample being used as a representative yardstick for global climate fluctuation.

The newest information to become available seems to compromise the very hockey-stick graph the AGW hypothesis is founded upon. We'll wait for more developments on that "science".

Interestingly enough, neither are the "scientists" who gave you the hockey-stick graph.

There's more "denial" today then there's ever been regarding anthropogenic global warming. Falsifying data is not scientific in case you're still confused.

Falsifying data isn't scientific. It's painful to know you've been duped, but it seems to be scientific in nature. More empirical data to come so lets not jump to conclusions. ;)

It could be due to how we didn't even have a summer this year. At my house it never got above the low 80s and that was only for a few days at that. Normally we at least get a few weeks of 80+ and usually a couple of days or more hitting at or near 90. We're having a mild November, but we had a very cold August.

The way I understand it - the ocean temperature is rising, which will shut down the gulf stream.

Once that happens, then the earth will start rapidly cooling.

Now - whether or not that has any basis in reality, or if human beings caused it (or have any way of doing anything about it), is still to be seen.

Dude- seriously, what are you on? "Recorded" history as you say is only about 100 years as far as the weather goes. The environmentalists citing Global Warming are only using the data from 1976 till today- THAT is part of the hoax! Why? Because if you take into account ALL of the recorded weather data it points to a major cooling trend.

More importantly, the ocean temperature change is the driver of climate; air temperatures are nothing more than the consequence
