you would probably have to travel some because every avon representative is their own boss. you would have to convince your friends to host avon parties and invite their friends to buy things from you so that way you can get your sales up otherwise you won't make any money.. if you just stay at home and do it online, who's going to see that you know what your doing?
an avon representative should be someone you trust and that you know because you are trusting that person with getting you the products and handling money and stuff..

Hi Michelle: So I see the job search is still on. If I may tell you to ask yourself a few personal questions (that is, you do not have to answer me): is your husband able to provide for you but you're looking to make some extra cash for the household? Or do you truly need this stay at home job to help support you and the kids? I don't know the ages of your children, but I suspect that they're rather young if you are a stay-at-home mom. That being said, have you spoken with a rep from Avon? In my office there are several ladies who are Avon reps but they leave their catalogs out for co-workers to peruse. I also have to agree with Miss Amber above me: that is, you must keep your sales UP in order to work as a rep. Since I've never met you, I don't know what your saleslady skills are, but I do know from experience that sales jobs are very difficult (I actually worked for Jenny Craig years ago). A hint: BEWARE of recruiters who tell you that all you have to do is get your foot in the door and then just "watch the product sell itself." NO PRODUCT SELLS ITSELF! IF IT DID THEN THAT PARTICULAR COMPANY WOULDN'T NEED SALES REPS!
The reason I bring all this up is NOT to discourage you from your pursuits...I simply don't want you to end up wasting your time on something that PROMISES to help you make big bucks but in the end you may end up working for "free"---especially if you don't want to leave the house or travel. (This happened to me years ago and I wouldn't wish it on anybody else, although I wasn't selling Avon products--I was selling pre-arranged funerals & caskets but most of the people I called on wanted to be cremated! ).
Ask yourself this: What are your talents? What do your family and friends tell you that you are good at? What would you truly enjoy doing (as a stay at home mom OR as a commuter)? OR ask yourself this: If your husband is home on the weekends would you be willing to work a weekends only type of job? IF it's just you and the children, then ask if someone would be willing to watch your children while you worked but instead of paying that person you could work out a deal in trade (you cook some meals for that individual, help clean that person's home, whatever...you'll work something out). One last question for yourself: how many more years before all of your children will be in school? Can you tough it out for awhile? Only you can answer these questions (my crystal ball is in the repair shop this week--grin).
Please keep me posted, Michelle...I hope & pray for the best for you and your family.
(And by the way--thank you very much for your compliment to me on your last question that I answered...in all modesty: YOU ARE CORRECT!)
