i'm about to color my hair myself for the first time and i need help! (questions about permanent hair color)?

i had my hair dresser color my hair dark brown now i'm trying to keep it up myself to save money. i just got Pravana creme hair color and i got Pravana creme developer. I learned about this brand from a youtube video i saw on coloring your hair at home. in the video, she said to use semi permanent hair color and not permanent hair color because permanent hair color will leave bands on "demarkation" when you wanna change colors. so i got all the EXACT products she had and it looks like the products are permanent so now i'm worried and confused! can someone tell me if this is true because i need to know if i need to get a different hair color now.... and what is the purpose of the developer?? thank you! i have no idea what i'm doing lol!

The "demarcation" is when you layer color and you get this little stripe of super-saturated color where the old and the new meet. You can get this from any kind of dye, permanent or otherwise, the difference is just that eventually with the non-permanent the band will fade.

Anyway, you said your hair has already been colored professionally and you're just coloring now for upkeep- in this case, you don't need a whole new allover kit for dyeing, just a product for root touch ups and a product to keep the rest of the color fresh. Several brands make root touch up products meant to match the current color of your hair and they're designed to be fast, easy and user friendly. To keep up the rest of the color you just need a clear shine or tinted glaze like the kind Herbal Essences and John Frieda sell.

The reddish tint grow to be there in my hair when I semi-perm dyed my blonde hair dark brown. there grow to be no pink in my hair firstly. it grow to be the brown hair dye. My hair did fade alot yet nonetheless had a reddish-gingerish tint while the colour got here out alot. (I did have blonde hair so it got here out alot lighter) i think of a reddish tint seems genuine superb interior the solar, so I wouldnt difficulty approximately that, yet once you dislike it i does no longer recomend bleaching it, for it is going to in straightforward terms bypass pink/orange. you ought to constantly strip the dye, yet i've got on no account achieved that..
