Is it possible to get a restraining order?

If you feel they are a threat to your life, then hell yeah. Call the police, and they will work something out. They might give just a warning the first time, but if the person continues the threats then they will probably give out a restraining order. I have seen it go both ways, sometimes the cops don't do too much because they haven't physically done anything harmful, then other times they take action right from the start. So, like i said talk with the police. They will give you your options.
