This is certainly not what Jesus had in mind when he appointed men to care for his congregations.

It's really despicable, but not new, or isolated. In the 1970s, I knew a man who was born in Venice, Italy. He told me that he'd been an altar boy when he lived there (he was about 10 when his family moved to the U.S.), and that he and all the other altar boys had been sexually abused (he didn't go into details) by the priests.

My mother and her four siblings were in a catholic "children's home" for over eight years, and all of them were so damaged by their experiences there that they could only hint at what happened to them because their memories were so painful. The youngest boy, my uncle, was a child molester. I often wonder if he learned that behavior at the hands of the priests.

Then there are the stories of "child migrants." Children sent from England to "the colonies" without the knowledge or consent of their parents. When the parents, who thought their children were being cared for temporarily, tried to get them back, they were told that they'd been adopted by loving couples, when in truth they were being physically and sexually abused in "orphanages" in New Zealand, and Australia.

From the article you linked to: "The report cited documents showing how church officials learned about some cases only when devoutly Catholic police received complaints from children or their parents — but handed responsibility back to church leaders to sort out the problems themselves."

This is what happens when people put their religion before their civic duty. I hope those officers are held accountable for their actions, as well as any clergy or other church members who aided and abetted the abuse.

    Well, PartyMarty:

These priest are much worse than anyone who confesses sins to them. What a travesty of the religion that they profess and how can any true Christian stay in that organization?

Revelation 18:1: I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen....

And this is the system that has asked Obama to give them a greater voice in the NWO? May God help us.

I suppose because catholic priests have done bad stuff, you think that makes you look pretty good, but I wouldn't let my kids alone with a protestant priest either.

Source(s): I also realise this is just a vehicle for despicable right wing moron protestants to maul Catholics and I must say I am really sorry to spoil your little hate party.

It doesn't surprise me. The catholic church is so corrupt and always has been. It certainly isn't Christ like.
