What is the airframe life of a Cessna Citation 500/Citation 1-SP?

We're interested in purchasing one, and I need to verify the airframe life to see if it's worth it.

There isn't any published life span, its all on inspection basis.

I have seen one with 15,000 hrs and 14000 cycles that are still in excellent shape and I have seen some with 8000 hrs and 7000 cycles that I wouldn't fly on! Most of the models you mentioned will be under 7,000 hours! Many available with 4-5,000! There are 105 listed at Aviation Business Week that range from $395,000 up so do some research!

Its a good time to buy as many are available at extremely low prices. A few out there around 350K or less! (There is always a reason for that!) If you don't know much about them, hire a buyers agent! The cost will more than be made up for in the results. How the maintenance has been done, who did it, who overhauled the engines and what engines are installed, (those with FJ44-2 engine conversions are better!) the exact details are critical. You do want to assure that RVSM has been accomplished and all inspections are current as well. Some of the phase inspections are rather high cost so the time to the next phase can have a large impact as well. If you have never been a jet buyer get help!
