Is it illegal for me to go down to Best Buy tonight (during the long line) and offer my computer services?

As many of you know, the line at Best Buy will be quite long tonight/tomorrow morning in anticipation for Black Friday.

Would it be illegal of me to go down there while the store is not yet open, and hand out fliers offering my computer services for the people waiting in line? I've tried to do a bit of research online regarding "solicitation," but I'm coming up short for an answer regarding this.

The property owner may have a say in this even if Best buy says..I don't care..at the most they will ask you to stop or leave. those fliers could turn into trash that you COULD be held responsable for.

  • as long as you are not in the store, it should be okay...most big box companys have a no soliciting thing in place, but that is in the store...I wouldnt do it in front of the door or anything cuz you would probably get grief from others, but it should be fine to hand out flyers to people...

    Illegal? Not automatically, no.

If they have signs posted that forbid solicitation on their property, then doing so is trespass, which *is* illegal.

If there are no such signs, then it's legal - but, again, if they ask you to leave then you must do so.

You could get in trouble because the customers would be on private property (Best Buy). However, the worst that could happen, in my opinion, is they ask you to leave.

While it's probably not illegal, because it's private property, if the store management catches you, they'll probably ask you to leave.
