Why is God an inconvenience to the unbeliever?

I suspect that God is not so much an inconvenience to the unbeliever.

However, this much is clear: the unbeliever is an inconvenience to the believer.

Especially when some little doubt as to the believer's veracity creeps in.

That is rather a broad generalization without any substantiating evidence. It is highly doubtful that God is considered an inconvenience to the nonbeliever any more than he is considered a convenience to the believer.

I don't think it's the concept of God that's an inconvenience to the unbeliever so much as it is the believers who think their God has given them special permission to be @$$holes to everyone else around them in his name.

none what so ever. I dont hand money to organised religion, I refuse to be oppressed because of organised religion (hmm, fighting oppression IS inconvenient sometimes actualy) and thankfully, no one I know has been killed in the name of god, yet. So its got bugger all to do with me.

(EDIT) Never trust a hippy: That was the US Government, "god" had nothing to do with it.

In my personal reflection, God(s) are an inconvenience because it implies that there is something in existence which the conscious mind can never access. I want the responsibility of being at the top (in terms of logic) of humanly known lifeforms ... its nicer to be in control.

Because people who are religious dont want to believe that people who dont pray as much as them that God loves them both equal. They want feel superior.

But I believe that God loves every one all the same.

God isn't an inconvenience to me as he doesn't exist. Its the people who believe in him who think they're all high and mighty and come knocking on my door on a Saturday morning to preach the good word.

I have no problem with God. He is invisible. It's the followers who hear him, and act on that, that is the inconvenience.

I have never been inconvenienced in the slightest, by any hypothetical deity, including the one you are imagining.

I have been inconvenienced by people who are certain that at least one hypothetical deity that they are imagining is actually real.

I think it's less god and more self-righteous religious people that cause us problems.
