Another clash between the Trinamool Congress and The CPI(M).......!! Are they Political Parties or Rowdy Gangs?

http://www.thehindu.com/2009/11/27/stories/2009112...
Just 2 examples but almost every 2 days there will be a clash between these two. I would also like to include some other parties that resort to violence often and ask 'What message are our violent political parties sending to the public'? How this can be curtailed? Any suggestions....?
@ SD - obviously I am not from WB..! And if you see the details I have asked the question in a pan-Indian Indian context. I gave examples of Bengal but violence among political parties is an ongoing process all over India. With recent incidents from MNS and The Sena I want insights on the whole picture of political parties using violence as a medium to express their thoughts and ideas..
@MS - Thanks.. :) If you can add details regarding violence among political parties in general it would be helpful.

Akka, i am very glad that you are finding difference between a political party and a rowdy. i am still now thinking both are same. chennaidhan madras, madrasdhan chennai. one word..without rowdism one can not run a political party.
if you want to find a political party without any rowdism, the following should start a political party.
1. bheeshma
2. veda vyasa
3. Hanuman.
4. Sri rama
5. Srikrishna
6. vidhura
since they are charitra purushas, incarnation of God, they came they established dharma, followed dharma and gone. No political party will establish dharma, see what happened to gandhiji who want to establish dharma, rama rajya, our people not gave bharat ratna, foreign people hesitated to give peace prize ...yes, nobel prize. so, our political party bosses read gandhiji's ''sathya sodhanai' several times and understood well. Even, our govt will bharat ratna to our political leaders..no wonder. so, without rowdism one can not run a political party. fight to fight, eye to eye. this is the tharaga mantra now. so, they follow.

Not an expert on WB politics thus would refrain on commenting on that.
Just wanted to say cute picture in avatar.....
Edit: As I said I do not know much about WB, thus I would let users blame SS Ray for violence in WB. Criminals in Political Parties that is a big topic. But let met summarize it very briefly.
Up to 70s we have politics to serve people to some extend but after that we have politicians for power. And when we have politicians for power then we will have powerful people entering politics. This power came either from money, crime or from money. And this trend was started from Congress and Communists because at that time other parties either did not exist or negligible existence.
At that time, this issue was limited, but in 1990, this became a big issue. Two big states in India UP, and Bihar were under the rule of regional parties and those regional parties came to power with help of local mafia. The qualification of these candidates was who has done more deadly crime.
Then came the law that a person convicted in the court cannot contest in the court, but that helped a little, because the candidates can still hire criminals to help them in elections. And the law is only against the convicted person, not against the charged people.
Now I see a little awareness through ngo like ADR, and that is just a beginning, there presence is helping the people who are on internet.
Violence and crime in politics can be stopped by the combined efforts of
- Voters
- Election Commision
- Local administration
- State and Central Government
- Judiciary
Each of these have to take harsh and strict action and if any of them fail this trend cannot be stopped.
Apologies, I cannot answer on your specific question.

The hooliganism in WB politics started with the Naxal movements in late 60s. Though naxals at the beginning were idealistic students , by the 70s local goons in every area started to exploit the movement for their own gains. All murders and robbery were passed off as Naxal movement.
The way the movement was suppressed by Congress CM S. S. Roy is another example of hooliganism, this time state sponsorsed.
This is the culture inherited by both the left alliances and Congress in WB. And TMC is just a off shoot of Congress. Its leaders keep on changing between TMC & Cong. as they change their clothes.
WB has come a long way from being the land of Subhash Bose or Tagore. People like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee or Dr. Bidhan Roy are not born today. Why?
And the reason is the ideological vacuum of its people. Bengal is the place where Vandemataram was first written . It was written as a song sung by Hindu Sanyasis who fight against the corrupt Nawab of Bengal and British at the same time.
Bengal experienced the prelude to the Partition genocide in the Great Calcutta Killing of Aug, 1946. Bengal is first and foremost the land of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee .
All these hooliganism and corruption in WB is the result of Bengal's straying away from its true ideology. Bengal's path is neither of Marx nor of Gandhi - both have been given chance and the situation of WB only deteroriated.
When Bengal will go back to its origin, to the path of Dr. Mukherjee then only it will recover its lost glory.
SORRY for getting diverted. The answer in short is: all these rowdyism is a result of frustration of youth which the political parties exploit. And frustration comes because they are searching for an ideology but both Marx & Gandhi failed them.

Do you live in Bengal ?
If yes, then you're a fool to ask such question.
If no, then let me explain.
The first implementation of 'political cleansing' was carried out by the Cong CM Sidharha Roy in early '70 - under the guise of curbing Naxals, many CPM workers were also annihilated.
Then CPM led Lefts formed the govt - & the first thing they do is to establish a firm control on society using their political position. If you want to do anything, you can't ignore Party Office. Many ppl from opposition were systematically harassed, & many times, killed. Even small partners in Left coalition sometimes faced the wrath of CPM.
One thing you must note - almost all of these clashes are happening in rural areas. You know why ? Becoz it was the rural Bengal, which was the powerhouse of CPM. CPM leaders successfully used Panchayet to control the rural ppl, & make their own fortune.
& now, the things are changing - recent elections are showing constant decay in CPM's votebank, & now oppositions are raising their voices. Some of them just seek revenge on CPM, some want the power. But how can CPM afford to loose something so easily that they've enjoyed for so many years ?
So, I think you've understood ! It's now a part of politics in Bengal, & no party, I think, want to change it.
Later addition :OK, so you want this issue to discussed in a 'broader context' ! Then it becomes quite complex. You've mentioned Sena & MNS, but almost all major political parties are guilty of such things - sometimes worse ! Cong workers kille Sikhs in '84, BJP destroyed Babri Masjid & organised Gujarat riot ; & how can you forget the 'Bahubalis' , specially in Bihar & UP ? The motive of all these incidents were different. When MNS-Sena attack North Indians or BJP talks about radical Hindutva, they are targetting some specific community to get their support, & often they are successful ! Using Bahubalis, or regimented , armed workers like CPM is the 'easiest' way to get votes. But, the the basic reason behind all these acts, is 'power'.
& who the hell think about general public ? They are largely divided, & can be manipulated. Most of them don't know their basic rights.
Don't expect any strong steps from any political party on this regard, becoz most of them are more or less guilty of such things; the convicts hardly get any punishment, rather they are often viewed as 'heros'. The only solution is more participation of ppl in politics. I'm not saying that ppl should directly take participation in politics, becoz often it's not possible. But they should be concerned about their civil rights. One option might be 'civic community', which can act as non-political entity to deliver the voices of common ppl to the politicians. Another option, & that's solely my own opinion, is to apply 'vothe for none option' in elections, just to show that you're not happy with current political system. If all those ppl, who doesn't vote only becoz they hate politicians, apply this option, then I think it might initiate a new social movement.

Yes,West Bengal party workers are more or less antisocial elements, well guarded by their
down fallen netas.
In that state nobody cares for the common public, every politician wants power at an any cost.
People of that state should choose nationalist politicians, disapprove political shopkeepers.

i for my area experience that each and every person could have the liberty of speech and the the wonderful option to particular themselves. some human beings of different ethnicities and third international international locations are no longer allowed to try this throughout fact in case you exhibit your self the incorrect way, do or say the incorrect element you're able to as nicely be despatched to the gallows. So i'm professional freedom of speech i think of between the effective components of united statesa. is you have that freedom. until eventually of direction you fall into the palms of the PMRC the place you're able to be concerned. or you bypass off subject rely in some political or activist rant and get escorted out of a court docket room. i for my area do no longer care how somebody is going approximately expressing their perspectives on something as long as its in sturdy style and smart. This alongside with a pair of disrespects in the direction of faith, political comments, view on society or social settings and cultures. One or 2 here and there are tolerable until eventually it falls into the EXTREMIST classification and its a disrespect in each and every sentence or profanity very different be conscious. So if it somewhat is in a track i for my area like i will pay attention to it as much as i will tolerate it which at my age isn't very long. If the track is that epic i might seek for an instrumental version. so a techniques as little ones and getting their palms on specific CDs or bands that undertaking Extremist view or hate messages we might desire to take a seem on the mum and dad and ask why their little ones have those products. Which occurs invariably. There are alot of apathetic human beings accessible which could no longer even permit you be responsive to what their new child ate for dinner the previous evein or in the event that they even ate in any respect because of the fact they do no longer supply a Sh*t approximately something yet themselves. the two way via our cutting-edge society little ones via the age of 11 or 12 have already been uncovered to those components from their mum and dad before they ever get their palms on a Cannibal Corpse CD. edit and that i pay attention you one the business enterprise subjects

All politicians are vain, arrogant, self centered, self serving, elitist liars that will say or do anything to get or retain power. The voters only count when they want money or your vote.
Start a blog where the voters get to sound off and sent the results to the head of each party and the local press.

I have not gone through your links, but one thing is sure what Trinamool is doing today was once special feature of Marxist carders in WB.
On the streets of Kolkata till date you have to give weekly to CPI goons to run your business smoothly. They have a labour *** CPI Office in each and every market, and silent rule is that you should not mess with them.

Comrades can't afford a non-communist. TMC has been adopting the spirit of Gundaism ,which is an element of communism, just to prove him appropriate gunda eligible to rule over W.Bengal further.

With hooligans like these,Pakistan need not bother sending terrorists into India to kill our people. Our own guys seem to be doing a good job of it for their own ideological reasons.Have a Nice Day.
