I'm considering a move to Tennessee...?

Any residents care to share their experience with the state? I've never left Florida and am kind of nervous about it, but it sounds like fun. I'll be somewhere in or around Nashville

We live in Murfreesboro which is a college town about a half hour drive south of Nashville. I absolutely love Tennessee. Murfreesboro has lower housing costs than many places. Nashville traffic is not terrible although it is getting worse. Tennessee seems to always have road construction going on in more places than you can name, but consequently our roads are in fairly good shape. Crime in Nashville is not terrible. I can go most places at any time day or night and not be really frightened. The people are friendly. Decent shopping although not as many specialized things as some places where I've lived like Denver. Good restaurants, good night life. Beautiful scenery with many state parks. The climate is mild with a few weeks that dip below freezing in the winter and a few weeks that are around 100 in the summer. Hmmm. Can't think of anything else.

As an ex musician, I did a lot of time in Nashville or as we called it Nash Vegas. I wouldn't want to live there as it is as bad as Hollywood with all the Wanna be stars there. I personally like Knoxville and the Great Smokey Mountains.

Er Ive lived in Memphis for 28 yrs and I really dont like it, there is a lot of crime and is pretty much a ghetto. Nashville is way nicer and has a lot of stuff to do. I wouldnt suggest living in Memphis but it would be fun to visit for a day

I love Tennessee. Tennessee is two states, east and west. East is mountain and west is flat.

Tennessee is rich in history too.

I camp in east tenn, and work in west. The only thing that keeps me from moving there is the taxes.

If you are moving to Nashville, Murfreesboro is a nice place.

Got off the interstate near Memphis once and went to a barbecue restaurant. I was just getting started on the best ribs, really awesome, when I noticed the place was getting awful quiet and everyone was staring at me. It took me about 30 seconds or so to realize EVERYONE was black but me. I got back in my car right away and finished the ribs while driving. I saw a white barbecue down the road but I decided to get back on the interstate. I didn't stop for desert.
