No!
Laptop processors normally have a cooling fan and often have slow-down functions to prevent over heating. Certainly, putting the laptop in fridge will assist the processor's cooling but the condensation will probably 'short' out the mother-board and blow it up. You could try putting it in liquid nitrogen - it will be difficult to handle and the battery will die on you but what the heck!

No it will not run any faster and if there is any water around it will probably freeze onto the laptop and then get in and completely destroy the circuit. However I have read about the idea that if you have a dead laptop battery you can put it into a freezer to revive it (not too sure why this happens and have yet to try it so it may not definitely work)

Sorry if im coming on strong but WHAT!!!
you will cool the discs to a point of fractor, and at the same time the friction will increase as any water vapor solidifies into ice between the cracks, expanding and breaking everything but also the friction will cause fractors along the discs. Also as this was put under science ill also put a point across that electricity (the thing that makes laptop's run) is moving electrons, if you cool these they will slow down, not much but a small bit so there is no logic in freezing it unless you are over clocking it by 1000%, turned off the fan and are still using it in the freezer.

Absolutely not. Every part of your laptop has a maximum speed on it. Each can reach it's maximum speed individually but all together will create a lot of heat and that max speed won't last very long before the laptop overheats and dies. Putting it in the freezer can destroy components and damage others significantly. It will run faster than normal if you upgrade a component with cooling on that one specific part or get a new component to replace it. But it's a laptop so upgrades are incredibly limited.

No, it'll go 'pop'. I think you are referring to an experiment where a P4 chip was super-cooled by liquid nitrogen via a heatsink and over-clocked rather excessively. This was carried out in laboratory conditions and used equipment far beyond the dreams of even the most nerdy-tech. I think the speeds they achieved were in excess of 100Ghz on the chip, but I can't be 100%, maybe someone could correct me on that. Any-hoo, lappies and freezers are not a combo you are going to see down PC World at anytime soon.

It will not run faster, but the water in the battery will freeze and expand.
This will probably crack the case of the battery.
When you try to use it at room temperature, the electrolyte will run out of the cracks and might attack the computer circuits.
So, no, not a good idea.

ok since your laptop runs on microprocessors they would be more efficient in a colder environment down to approxiamtely -100 deg celisus where it is no longer beneficial to cool processors.
But laptops aren't designed for that the water in the air in your computer would condensate and short circuit most of your circuits and the lcd would probably crack

Your computer should never be over heated. But putting it in the freezer is a little too drastic, don't you think?

No
But i bet 20$ it will form condensation on the boards when you bring it back out of the freezer though.

Of course it won't run faster, you maverick! It will brake! Ice + Electricity = Death. Who on earth told you that? Who ever it was definately doesn't like you.
