The chances of teen writers getting published is actually higher than adults. This is because, only very few teenagers are really good writers and it's usually those who complete novels .Plus, publishing houses are always on the look-out for the next Eragon. I mean, take a look at Christopher Paolini, he wrote Eragon at 15. And he was homeschooled!

Can't get more inspirational than that. For technical details on how to get published, check out the link in my Source.

I think that we shouldn't just be talking about Teen's Getting Published here, I think we should introduce the topic of Bad Writers Getting Published in general. Of course I agree that teens generally don't have enough life experience to write a proper book. But there are many published authors (I use authors loosely) who are lacking that life experiance also (I don't care what you say, some kids go through much worse than most adults do). There are teens I know (because I am a teen writer - I use writer loosely - myself) who hope to get published and can't form a proper sentence, but there are also adults who can't write properly either. Now, let's imagine a teenager does write a book that is incredible, while an adult writes one that's equally incredible. Both manuscripts are presented to a publisher, who can only choose one. Who do you think will get published? The publisher will have the impression that the Teen's is worse BECAUSE they are a teen. The publisher will be biased over age and the Adult's book will be in stores by the next month. This is a pretty far fetched tale, but when quality IS considered and the book is great, this is what is most likely to happen. I'm completely agreeing with you that most Teen writers aren't skilled enough to write a brilliant novel. Still, you are being biased by saying that ONLY teens are lacking the life experiance and aren't skilled enough to be authors.

Anyone can get published. I think you just type up and print out your manuscript in finished form and mail it in to a publishing company. You'll want to do some research when choosing a publishing compnay to make sure that they publish the genre that you wrote about. For example, you don't want to send a romance to Tohr (Tohr is fantasy) because they don't publish things of that subject.

Yes, you can be published if your work is interesting enough to a publisher. Make sure to research the publishing industry to find a good fit for your work. Some people say get an agent to represent your interests. You'll want to be patient. It is difficult for first time authors to break into the industry.

Yes you can but since we're not mature enough our novels take a bit longer to get published. If you want to get publish I would invest in buying this book that lists all the names and contact info of literaty agents, then these literary agents will send your story to publishers.

Of course. There is no age limit to getting published. It may be more difficult as a teen then as an adult (which is already quite difficult). Your story had better be good, and please, for the love of God leave vampires out of it. (Seriously if I see one more story about vampires falling in love with a human suicide will appear to be a good option for me).

Sure, I had a poem published when I was still in high school. I entered it into a poetry contest. It didn't win, but it was good enough to be published.

Yes. Teen authors include S.E Hinton who penned the cult classic novel, The Outsiders and Mary Shelley, who is the author and creator of Frankenstein.

Judging by the illiterate way you type, your story is most likely crap. So I highly doubt YOU can get published. Ever. In your life. It helps to know the English language beforehand. God I hate people like you. Probably some hipster who thinks you're intelligent because you write books and drink tea, but are really as dumb as a rock.

well yeah, if your parents are authors, you know people, or your're just an amazing writer in general, then i bet you would. if you want to look for publishers etc, i would go to the store and get the writer's market 2009. i have it and it is pretty useful (although i am no where near done writing)
