i bought an ipod nano 5g a few weeks back..are there any applications for it??

No. There are things called games that you can play with the click wheel, but its nothing like the app store for ipod touch and iphone. But hey, you have a video camera!

there aren't really any apps available for the iPod nano. Your first request is filled by the notes section, however.
There used to be a group of people actively working on linux for the iPod, but I think that pretty much died off a few generations ago.
It sounds like you require an iPod touch.
