One breast larger then the other?

My left breast is larger then my right, and I mean significantly. I am large breasted to begin with but my left breast is about an entire cup size larger then right. My breasts also have pain when I push on the outside edges of them but the pain is mild, it gets A LOT worse before period but is always there if I push on the sides of them. Anyone have any ideas?

Update:

I just want to clarify I've seen many drs about various things in the past year. She did a breast exam on me in the office about 4 months ago and said everything felt fine but told me she thought I needed a reduction or I'd have to start having mammo's at 30 :( I've heard conflicting info about this from other people though.

Update 2:

I am 26 and def. do NOT need implants..if anything I was thinking reduction.

Update 3:

No lumps and yes slightly undersized bras is completely possible since they do not carry the right size in stores, I compromise.

The difference in your breast size i completely normal, even if it is an entire cup. Most women don't have evenly aligned breasts anyway.

And yes, the pain is normal as well. They should get sensitive before your period.

    Hope this helps =]

These are not stupid questions! I breastfed my daughter for 13 months. I was borderline A/B cup before pregnancy and breastfeeding, and went up to a C cup while breastfeeding. I had no problems whatsoever. In fact, judging by my experience, I'm glad I wasn't a large-breasted woman prior to nursing. Due to my smaller than average size, it wasn't impossible for my daughter to fit my areola in her mouth and maintain a good latch. Don't sweat it. You'll be fine. In regard to positions and using the Boppy, there are ways and positions that you'll find work for you. I enjoyed breastfeeding in a rocking chair with my feet propped up. That way, my daughter was at a perfect level with my breast and didn't have trouble. I have also heard that the "My Brest Friend" pillow is much better than the Boppy since you can position the pillow more securely and not feel like you're straining your back. As a result, I'm trying that pillow with my second child. You raise an interesting point that it's rare to see photos or video of small-breasted women nursing. I noticed that too, and it really annoyed me. I used photos and videos a lot to help me when I breastfed my first child, and I couldn't understand why only large women were featured.

First I will need to know your age. When I first started developing breasts my left was significant larger than my right, and that continued until I turned 18; then they started to get around the same size. It was very annoying because my bra on one had was full and the other was still saggy. I think it has to do with the heart pumping blood through the left breast more than the right breast since its on the left side. I am not a 36C, and they are around the same size, not completely but ITS not as noticeable now as it used to be.

Have a doctor check it if you don't feel comfortable.

Having different or assymetrical breasts is totally normal. It may bother you, and some women feel self conscious about it, but as far as normalcy goes.. you are. Sometimes the size difference is barely noticeable, and sometimes it can be a cup size or more, we come in all shapes and sizes. If if bothers you, you can even out the look with chicken fillets.

As for them being tender.. most women get sore breasts before and during their periods, it's just an unfortunate side effect. As for having mild pain throughout the rest of the month.. are you still growing? If you are in your teens or early twenties it's probably that they're still growing with you.

    Hope that helps :O)

and you must be left handed too? ...as like the others- its normal.

unless, there would be a lump? ..and/or your using undersized bras?

    no worries....
