I read that Google only indexes 0.03% of the web?

Is this true? If so, what's in the remaining 99.97% we can't see?

Update:

Either that or just porn :)

They "index" somewhere north of 80% of the web. New content and new domains are not instantly indexed or are not displayed in search results until other sites reference them or their content is considered more mature (ie. you can't just launch a website about a certain thing and expect to be number 1 in results, Google waits to incorporate your data). However, what you read may be true about what Google "caches" which is data that is archived on their network. Considering the size of all content on the Internet, this makes sense.

Sensible answer: probably content very similar to the 0.03%

Not-so-sensible answer: Obama-bashing material and FOX News propaganda.
