Does Using Food Stamp From Another State Work For Other State?
If traveling out of state with the state residence food stamp, will it work in other stores?
For my state, they have two seperate account on the card - Food and Cash.
Food stamp doesn't have Cash when come to using food stamp, it not like you withdraw it like ATM machine.

Not usually. Food stamps are a state program, but some states have agreements with bordering states. And even in states that have these agreements - it is usually only big chain groceries that have the right machinery to validate an out-of-state card.

A friend of my son used her food stamp plastic card at grocers while visiting here. We are in Texas and she is from somewhere up north (Michigan, I think.)
The best person to ask would be someone at your local food stamp agency.

If you have an EBT card it works in any state in the USA. I know because I called to ask when traveling on vacation and then used it. You can call DHS and ask if you are at all concerned. If you MOVE then you have to reapply

Like the first answer I think most states have moved to the card system...but I do think these can be used out-of-state. I'm not sure so you should contact your case worker.

people go out of town for all kinds of reasons, visiting relatives IS vacation in my book and it's why I need to know.

No, you can travel throughout the state, but it is a STATE program!
If one ever has a question regarding welfare benefits, call your worker. Do you recieve FS for your children? Because they must live with you full time in order for you can collect FS.
You can always see if you qualify in another state; however each state has certain criteria/ rules . Each state is different. The govt is really cracking down, Thank God!
