Making rope halters (20 characters)?
I, I just thought of a good way to make some extra money...making rope halters and selling them! Just one question...how? Haha. Anyone have a good website with pictures? What kind of rope should I use?

The polyester rope you need can be bought from yachting and /or climbing suppliers. It is quite expensive. Other rope really is no good. The knot used as a basis for the halter is the 'fiador knot', a bit fiddly but ok to do with a bit of practice! To seal the ends of the rope melt them with a cigarette lighter.

Ha! Totally. I've always thought how ridiculous it is that people will pay $8 for something they could make for $2. Go to a hardware store and get some yards of rope. Just get a rope halter and use that as your guide- It's basically just knots! It's a great idea.

Hi. I make my own halters all the time. Do you see my display picture of the horse? He wears them but he wasn't then though. I do it out of rope if that's what you were wanting to do.
www.horseloversworld.weebly.com is my website if you would like to check it out. I'm still working on it so don't expect it to be the best.

I looked into doing this but was put off by the amount of rope I'd need and how much the rope costs.
You will need to be able to bulk buy the rope to make any profit and that means having a couple of hundred quid spare to buy it with.
