The best time to plant a tree or other perennial plant is in the Fall. The reason for this is that a plants roots do not stop growing during the Winter, and as such a Fall planted plant will have a better root system and be able to handle the heat and other climate conditions it will face in the coming Spring and Summer. Sadly it has been my experience that the nursery industry teaches that all planting should be done in the Spring. This is a marketing ploy and not a sound horticultural practice in general. Good luck with your Crepe Myrtle.

A slow, deep trickle is nice. positioned the hose on the plant early in the morning (assuming you upward thrust up early!) and enable it run till you circulate away for artwork. Repeat once you get residing house. circulate away the hose on for an hour. circumvent watering in one day. The flowers are not dealing with photosythesis at night and as a result do no longer choose water. You boost your possibility of a disease brokers forming whilst watering at night. Overwatering isn't probably on Crapemyrtle in the summertime. indications of overwatering are fairly comparable to those of loss of water! a good rule of thumb is to scoop up an incredible wad of soil from around the inspiration ball. in case you are able to wring out water from the wad, then it is too plenty water. in case you squeeze and the soil is moist yet no longer dripping, then you certainly are on the main suitable suited song. stable success!
