Why aren't the seeds germinating?

I seeded my lawn last year when the summer was really hot and the grass grew fine. I watered 2 times a day and the Grass grew beautifully.

Now recent I did the same for the backyard and the grass isn't germinating. What did I do wrong?

How  long ago did you seed it? Grass takes longer to germinate when the temperatures are cooler. This time of year it might take as much as 2 weeks before you see any signs of growth at all.

Otherwise, it might be that the seeds are just too old. They don't last forever. Or perhaps you didn't cover the seeds with soil well enough and subsequently birds have come down and eaten them.
