Help with CV PhD application!?

I'm going to apply for a bunch of PhDs in climate science and related fields & am now writing my CV!

I think it's terrible (will e-mail it if anyone fancies looking over it?), and I'm confused about where to put some stuff.

I've taken the traditional [Personal Information], [Education], [Work experience], [Achievements], [Skills], [Interests] approach.

However, I find I'm repeating myself quite a bit! For example, I have various achievements that are education related, and interests where I've got achievements and learned skills.

Do I repeat myself, or do I just pick a single section and put it in there?

One example is martial arts (interest). I won a medal in national student sparring (achievement?) and was elected to the exec of the club in one year where I was very successful (achievement & skills?)

Similarly I received a letter of congratulation from the exam board for an A level, which is both education and achievement. Do I put it in one section, or both? Right now I've left it in 'achievements', hoping that they won't get bored between 'education' and there. Anyone got advice?

Well mate, for lack of anyone else, I'm certainly willing to look it over and tell you my thoughts. Granted I'm not a resume expert, but I'm applying for jobs as well and (hopefully) have a pretty good idea about what a good resume should look like.

Send me what you got. I'll send you mine too if you want to compare; it was critiqued by someone who knows a lot more about it than me.

No, you will desire to declare it. You shoudl have your very own profile: e.g. a very short paragraph (2-3 sentences) approximately your objectives and your self. you pick your call, DOB and handle on the actual, with email and phone quantity. you will desire to contain your college call and dates you have been there, and your grades (Maths, English and technological understanding first) you will desire to positioned any artwork journey you have, latest first. in case you have none, be innovative. have you ever helped a relative in the shop for an afternoon etc? been a dogs walker? think of what skills you will desire to declare this has given you. contain a sentence or 2 on what this function in contact. you will desire to positioned any awards you have gained, and different impressive products. you will desire to contain 2 references, one from college. (call and handle, email and phon style of persons who will provide you a reference). The headings on mine are: profession purpose training artwork journey Achievements and practise hobbies References by using fact I fairly have a diploma and tonnes of voluntary journey, mine is now an academic CV and can be 3 pages long. otherwise it's going to be a million-2 A4 sheets, length 12 font.
