Why are so many kids fascinated with body kits?

Why are so many younger guys fascinated with body kits?  They do nothing but devalue the car and make the econobox or family four door sedan that they are attached to look absolutely retarded.  Not to mention that they do not fit worth a damn.

So why do so many kids spend money on body kits instead of real performance parts like cams, heads, etc...?  Why do they spend so much money to look so stupid?

Rap music the idiot says, smh. It's not any type of music, it's the Fast and Furious generation who don't have broad backgrounds in cars. So they only no looks, and little things that they read, instead of getting out and learning the bare bone structure.

i used to love them but lately i just hate the idea. i really dont have a facination i used to have with ricers. im also not a fan of the spoilers. or extreme 4X4 offroaders / rockcrawlers. or blingy trucks. i basically stick to simple mods like rims and performance lighting. i like lowriders but even those are kinda too much. dont care for the fancy ones with airbrush.

i think kids just like to get attention with a more outlandish and crazy design. just ignore it

look lower to the ground and faster. just for looks. they should be puttin money into more performance products. i'm 16 and am more into lifted trucks and things more like that
