Any ideas for dresses during Winter?

I live in Florida, and I'm going to New York for Christmas. I'm obviously not used to the whole "Below Zero" kind of weather, but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how you could wear dresses in the winter? I'm open to all suggestions. I wouldn't like to take away anything from the top of the dress by covering it up completely either!

Please and Thank You<3

If you aren't looking to be too formal, sweater dresses are a great option. Pair with tights and boots...high heeled for a bit more of a dressy look.

For formal, I still wear sleeveless dresses, even when it's freeeeezing, but I make sure to wear warm tights, closed toe shoes and a heavy jacket for outside. Maybe a cardigan layered underneath, but not needed once you are at your destination. Also, if you can find a pretty shawl or scarf to accessorize the dress, it can keep you warm.

Have fun in NYC! It's the best this time of year.

well i live in maine and i normally wear sweater dresses or just tough it out in the cold. sweat dresses are cute, but sorta casual. just buy/wear a dress with thick material and a rad longer then usual... or look for one that you call put leggings/tights under.
