Divide to find out how much 1 bottle of water costs.

    $3 / 6 bottles = $0.50 per bottle ( ratio 3:6)

    $10 / 24 bottles = $0.42 per bottle. ( ratio 10:24)

What you want to figure out is how much one bottle of water is worth in each pack, so for the six pack, one water bottle costs .50 per bottle ($3 / 6 bottles) and in the 24 pack, one bottle costs ~.42 per bottle ($10 / 24 bottles)

An easy way to do this is figure out what exactly you want. In this problem you wanted price per bottle so when you solve you get the cost and divide by the number of bottles

    3 ÷ 6 = $.50 that is cost per bottle

    10 ÷ 24 = $.4166667 is the cost per bottle.

If you are into saving money would you rather pay 50 cents for a bottle of water or 42 cents for the same bottle?

those are the equations you ought to be making use of: 2x+3y=33 3x+2y=31 Use removal to sparkling up for x and y. Multiply each and each by a selection which will cancel out a variable. for this reason, x is canceled -3(2x+3y=33) +2(3x+2y=31) -6x-9y=-ninety 9 + 6x+4y=sixty two = -5y=-37 so y=7.4 Plug value of y (7.4) into the two equation to get value of x 2x + 3(7.4)=33 ...2x=33-22.2 ...x=5.4 So, the respond is the binders value $7.40 a chew and the staplers value $5.40 a chew

    $3 for 6.

    $10 for 24.

    24/6=4 times as much.

    $3*4=$12

so you save 2 bucks buying bigger :)
