Could you know who is this performer?
Another recording of "Mirage Records" company, which could be my favorite performance of one of my most beloved piano works : Chopin's Scherzo No. 2 in B minor, of course there are some other wonderful performances of this work I really love as of "Krystian Zimerman", "Vladimir Ashkenazy" and others, but this record is different and truly amazing.
And as usual, Mirage company was producing its really excellent records of wonderful performances, however not mentioning at all any performers' details, really a very strange matter!
I've tried contacting them through their official site several time but I received no response at all, and I really want to know who's the performer and obtain his original CD recordings rather than this cassette tape I have, which includes the complete Chopin's Ballades and Scherzos, with same magnificent performance.
So I hope first that you enjoy this performance, and please tell me if you could recognize or guess who's that performer, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks a lot
Sorry! the Scherzo is in B flat minor not B minor.
Yes del_icious_manager, I know of course that you're not a Chopin's fan, but I'm glad that you enjoyed this performance, and of course I totally agree that it would be much disappointing to the artists totally ignoring their efforts and valuable performances, just giving the work name and neglecting their names!Really much stupid action by the producer.

I can offer no help, unfortunately. I am not (as you might know) a Chopin fan, but found this performance of the B flat minor scherzo most enjoyable. I am dumbfounded that ANY record company could dare to release a CD without giving due credit to the performer(s). In fact, I think I'm right in saying that (in the EU at least), not to give this credit is actually illegal now (and so it should be). If I were the splendid pianist on this recording, I would be MOST put out that my name was not mentioned anywhere.
Sorry not to have shed any light.

I am one of those people who buys a *dumb* cell phone - all it does is make calls, text, and let you check on the Web if you must. But I heard that there is a iPhone application that allows you to shake the phone, hold it up to music that is playing, and it DOES identify the work, recording, performer, etc. Must be some kind of inaudible signal broadcast, etc. I find this amazing - and frightening - but could be useful. Got a friend who is a phone freak?
You can also hit Schwann, StoneHouse (?? - Woonoski, VT), and all the old-fashioned compendia of classical music recorded, and see who DID record this - and start eliminating. You do not always have to get to the last straw in the haystack to find the lost needle.

Test Match: Batting: Graeme Smith, Chanderpaul, Gambhir Bowling: Mendis, Sidebottom, Murali. Wicket Keeping: Ramdin, Boucher, Haddin, Overall: Vettori, Mendis. ODI: Batting: Hayden, Tendulkar, Chanderpaul Bowling: Mendis, Zaheer Khan, Brett Lee Wicket Keeping: Akmal, Gilchrist, Dhoni Overall: Gilchrist, Tendulkar, Gayle. I believe that Vettori excelled in experiment fits and Gilchrist excelled in ODI.

TK, nice performance ... and I'm clueless who the performer is. Was (is) "Mirage" one of those K-Tel or Time-Life type record manufacturers that (licenses and) repackages previously released material.
Perhaps iTunes can actually help here ... check this info on recordings attributed to Joyce Hatto but of other performers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joyce_Hatto#Recording...

... Of course you're after the legitimate original performer who just isn't attributed on the tape, not uncovering a maniacal media mafia mastering monopoly. Do tell if you find out.
