Why do Westerners hate China so much?:(?

It's like China can do nothing right. The Westerners will hate China for anything. Anything China does will be condemned. And the Westerners in general just don't like China. They hate China and the Chinese.

LOL...

Because China is 5000 years old and is one of the richest nations. Westerners feel threatened. I am Japanese but I love China and its culture.

It's because China's public relations strategy sucks and is failing badly. All we seem to hear about his human rights abuses, about how police killed protesters, and so on. We hear stories about, for instance, Falun Gong, which claims to be a peaceful spiritual Qi Gong movement, where people were arrested, institutionalised and suffered greatly at the hands of the Chinese government. I think, the West probably disciminates (I'd estimate 99%) against the Chinese regime and government, not against the Chinese people. I love and accept Chinese people; they're just like I am, and other friends of the same and different races. We're all just human beings; I am convinced of that. BUT, the Chinese goverment seems screwed badly. There is no freedom of speech, people are heavily persecuted for going against or wronging the government. Hundreds are injured or killed during protests and then news is released saying that the protesters were wielding weapons and committing serious violence. Ironicallly, these protesters don't mirror the protesters we see in our own country. And I am sure if the proteters, being aware of just what the government are capable of, are far less likely to rest to violence. There are other issues too. China is going through a mad industrial growth right now, and good on them, but what about the lack of respect for human life? What about the thousands killed in coal mines? The west are not much father up the rung in terms of humanistic development, but we seemed to have tackled these issues years ago. I personally have no issue with China's growth as a country. I have no issue with Chinese individuals growth, and with China and the people of China all the best. But the above issues serve to make me feel that the Chinese regime, at least, is cold, heartless and to a degree evil. I find it dificult, if not impossible to relate to the Chinese regime. Then again, that may work both ways. And I've been keen to say "I feel" because I don't want to wrongly generalise, though I think my feelings are fairly widespread.

its not its age, its culture or its wealth its what it decides to do with it. china is a communist country and its political system is completely corrupt. i love all Asian cultures, especially Japanese (even tho they copied most of it from the Chinese but never mind.) most people giving answers are from the east but i am a westerner so i can give you a real opinion. notice how America has not bought out controlling shares in British company's but china has. they are using their economy to control and buy everything, while their people dont get half the pay that people in the west get.

its not that they are existing that they are getting condemned for, its that they are trying to buy out the world and aren't trying in the slightest to cover it up. i want to keep my history and my heritage and i want my great grand children to be in a free capitalist world. if china was to take over then every dream and hope of any one who is not Asian would be crushed forever. and if china was to take over the world i would have no quarrel with taking up guerrilla warfare actions against them even if it means i have to risk my own and my family's life.

also do people from the east have really racist and negative opinions on westerners? because to be honest most westerners like Asian people.

i hope this was not too racist but this is how most westerners feel, im sorry if this offended you but you wanted a honest answer.

LOL... Why does it turn you on to think that? Geography is not a strength for Americans. Most of us don't know or think anything about China other than going to a Chinese Restaurant. Which is food that is loved. My US Senator adopted a baby from China. She apparently thinks Texans like Chinese people.

I really feel no hatred toward China or the Chinese... In fact, I don't know anyone that does. We may disagree with some of China's political and/or social policies, but that doesn't mean we hate them.

I am a Westerner and I do not hate China. Many people believe this because China is growing and coming up. I live in the U.S.A. and China provides us with almost everything in our daily lives.

Yeah..You keep thinking that. And besides you can't talk cause you were talking crap about us blacks on here yesterday. So if we did hate China so much, then we'd only hate the people stuck in their homogeneous bubble and shout out ignorant comments.
