Navy Boot Camp Liberty is a week is that possible? PLEASE HELP!?

My boyfriend graduates from boot camp on December 30, 2009. He said that his Liberty is until January 6, 2010. He is going to the Nuclear A school in SC. Most of the websites I have seen say that liberty is usually only 48 hours long. Could it be possible that his Liberty is that long? I don't want to waste money on reservations. Thanks for your help.

its becuase all A schools shut down between 18 Dec and 4 January. they simply aren't gonna send him to SC until there will be somebody around at that end to check him him.

That being said.. do NOT expect that he wil be free the entire time.. in fact, I would bet against it.

Liberty is different to leave. He has to get leave approved to go beyond a certain distance (between 100 to 250 miles generally) Liberty can mean he is allowed to leave the base but has to come back every night or has to come back within a short time frame. they will be flying him from Great Lakes to Charleston so he can actually be leaving that day or he might not be leaving until the next week, in which if it is the later he still has to remain there unless it is authorized he can leave the city or even the state.

All in the Military are entitled to 30 days leave per year. You lose it as you use it. For example, you have 30 days, you use 10 , you have 20 left.

LIBERTY is basically, time off. You are off duty, you can leave post, do whatever, but it is only for a short period of time, such as overnight, or a weekend. it does not count against your annual leave.

    Do not confuse the two.

Leave is earned, liberty is simply an " attaboy" for a job well done.
