Will i be thought badly of if i can't afford to pay for an item i won on ebay until 5 days after the winning?

It would be best to just inform the seller that payment will be on Friday. Most sellers allow 7 days for payment anyway.

Margie K - If the asker was to put this transaction through paypal now, this would make the askers bank account to be overdrawn & they would possibly incur some penalty from the bank (you know how greedy banks are)

I am assuming that you are going to use paypal to pay and it is linked to your bank account. No worries, just hit the pay button and follow through the prompts - what will happen is that the seller will get an email from paypal notifying them that the payment is in transition. When the funds are in your account and paypal can then take those funds, the item will be paid for in full and the seller will get a new email notifying them that they are paid in full and can then ship the item. Paypal will also send you a corresponding email for each action. That way you don't have to tell the seller anything. FYI, if you need to contact a seller after a sale like this, just go to your account page and click on the item you won, from there you can click on "ask the seller a question" or can just click on their name and it will take you to a "contact " line you can click to send them a message.

go to the item won and on the page you will see in the right hand corner, ask seller a question, it is under their name and feedback score. then ask them if it is ok to pay on friday when you have the money. most sellers have a time limit for paying stated right in the listing.

Just tell the guy ahead of time that your bent for the cash and he'll be ok with it.
