When is a stoppage ruled TKO vs. Submission due to strikes?

I thought that Submission due to strikes occurred when a fighter taps out from strikes. The first time I saw it was at UFC 59, where Karo Parisyan forced Josh Thompson into submission from ground and pound. The official ruling is Submission (strikes).

However, I saw the same thing happen at UFC 69, where Georges St. Pierre tapped out from ground-and-pound by Matt Serra. The official ruling, however, was a TKO (strikes).

At UFC 106, Brock Larson tapped due to punches from Brian Foster. The official ruling was TKO (strikes).

Am I missing something here?

submission due to strikes is when the guy getting punched taps out or verbally submits from the strikes.

TKO is when the referee jumps in and stops the fight when one fighter can't intelligently defend him self from strikes.

I think in both the Matt Serra vs GSP fight and the Larson vs Foster fight, the fight was already about to be stopped. I think the ref stopped the fight the same time GSP tapped.

I think a lot of this is since it is still a new sport some of these details are not yet being looked at. Some times a fight will be called a KO where as several other fights with very similar finishes are called TKO's.

This could all just be up to the refs decisions...I don't really know

I think the ruling depends on the timing of the ref. Before or after the tap.

I cant say Metallica could be everywhere as stable as purple floyd or led zeppelin. Led zeppelin had a great sound and experience, yet curiously a great style of songs on there albums they didnt write (riffs) and maximum of there track is fueled by utilising drugs. i think of purple floyd became a much better band with greater ideal shape and killer guitar solos. purple floyd for me :)
