Why do dogs rub their butts on the carpet?

    Alot of people think it is due to worms - it could be - you need to look sorry lol.

    If it is clear then yes it is probably anal glands that need to be cleared, you can take the dogs to the vet, a dog groomer or they will teach you how to do it yourself.

    It is usually because they need their anal glands expressed. If you do not know how to do this, see a vet ASAP, as it's very uncomfortable for the dog. It also could mean worms.

  • One of my dog's does it frequently. I always get the vet or groomer to squeeze his glands, but he still does it. The vets don't seem concerned at our office. I guess mine just likes it.
