Have there ever been any left-handed quarterbacks?
This just occurred to me, I have never seen or heard of any left-handed quarterback. So could you name any? And are there any currently playing right now?

There is a lack of left handers in the history of the NFL. One previous answer is correct...there have been 32 in the history of the NFL and there are currently 5 in the NFL (no starters). The best LH....Steve Young who is the only LH in the Hall of Fame. Other notable lefties include Kenny Stabler, Boomer Esiason, Jim Zorn, Mike Vick (like him or not he is a 3 time Pro Bowl QB). Tim Tebow will be drafted so he will add to the list....but history (and his lack of NFL skill set) suggests he wont be anything other than a backup or some sort of H-back type player. The biggest issue working against left handed QBs....offensive lines are built with LT being the best lineman and the left side genrally being the better pass protectors....that offers no blindside help to the leftie.

Left handers always have a big wind up resulting in a slow release. The only reason Michael Vick was a Pro Bowler was because the fans count for one third of the votes. Every little Vick weenie, turned on by sensationalism and not good quarterbacking, voted for him. No way was Vick ever one of the league's best QB. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Steve Young and Ken Stabler.

How about Steve Young? nobody is mentioning him.....and hes a hall of famer. Boomer Esiason was a lefty as well and so was kenny stabler. Oh and Jim zorn, current redskins head coach.
currently of course there is matt leinhart, mark brunell, jared lorenzen (if hes even still on an NFL Roster), chris simms, and Michael Vick......i guess vick is still a QB lol.....

In the whole history of the NFL, there's only been 32 left handed QBs. You can count the number of good ones on one hand.
