Just bought Sims 2 Bon Voyage and the disk is blank! What do I do?

I just bought a copy of The Sims 2: Bon Voyage for my laptop from my local Target store. Getting home, I went to install it and its like the disk is blank. Is my disk faulty and theres nothing there? I even tried it on a friend's computer who plays as well and it did the same thing. HELP!!

Update:

First, thank you all so much for your answers thus far. I would like to add though, that on the receipt it does say 'If open exchange same item only' or something very similar along those lines. So I can get another one. Thank you!

This sometimes happens in the manufacturing of the disc. You can't take it back to Target unsealed because they will just turn you back around out the door (I've learned from experience.) What you should do is find the contact number for EA PLay on the box and give them a call and ask them to exchange it for you. Make sure you keep the disc clean because if you return it and there is a scratch on it, they'll blame the discs errors on you mishandling the disc.

Look, you can try taking it back to Target and getting an exchange but Target isnt like Best Buy or Wal-Mart. They are very strict with their returns. No opened discs at all, period. They cant just except your story as the truth and return the product and lose out on the profit. I know, i was a Store Manager for 2yrs. Try to return it, if they refuse to take it back, call EA and have them exchange it for you.

Return the game to Target and tell them it was defective and you need another. I highly doubt both of your laptops' disc drives died at the same time without you knowing.

If the drives are working, there's something else wrong. Like a faulty disc. Or trying to run a Windows CD on a Macintosh, or a Macintosh CD on a Windows laptop. If you're running the game on the right OS, just return the game for an exchange. Target is generally very good about exchanges as long as you have your receipt.

You're likely to have been the victim of a scam - if the game was pre-owned, then it's the previous owner who has obviously sold it on with a game that looks geniune in order to get some money from it and keep their original.

You could take it back to the store and make a complaint and show them your receipt (hey it counts as proof of purchase! lol) and demand your money back - IF you kept the receipt.

If the "game" doesn't work on your PC or your friend's, then you should still be able to get your money back.

    Hope this helps :)

I would definitely take it back to the store and explain what happened. They will probably let you exchange it for a new one - if that one doesn't work, then I'm not sure. But I really recommend that you take it back. Hopefully they let you exchange it.They usually do if the disc is faulty or doesn't work. The only reason they wouldn't is if you purposly broke it.

i stay in canada, so i'm unsure what variety of shops you have there. yet up right here we've EB video games, Walmart and particularly lots any save will sell it. :) in case you won't manage to locate it, then on line is without doubt one among the only selection left. sorry :( i've got performed the sport in spite of the undeniable fact that, that is extremely relaxing :D in any case, stable success. you should proceed to look and ask save people approximately it.. if no longer something works, pass to the premiere internet site or in simple terms yet another place on line to locate it :)

If it does that on every PC, then you should return it to the store for a new copy of the game.

Take it back to the store and get a refund and tell them I would like either my money back or another game and if that one doesnt work either get a refund!
