Obama's 'mission accomplished' message?

Will Obama's 'mission accomplished' message end up misunderstood like Bush's message?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/04/obama-in-...

Update:

sorry, i forgot, i need to point out the obvious for the liberals...

'We also took steps to unlock our frozen credit markets so the average American could get the loan he or she needs to buy a home or a car; to go to college or start a small business. We enacted measures to stem the crisis in our housing market, helping responsible homeowners stay in their homes and curb the decline in home values overall. We cut taxes for 95 percent of hardworking families - just like I promised you we would when I ran for President. And we passed the Recovery Act, which created or saved up to 1.6 million jobs, stopped our freefall, and lifted our economy to the point where it's growing for the first time in more than a year.'

Now since so many liberals inaccurately reflect on what Bush's mission accomplished message meant, should i also be free to misrepresent that Obama is saying 'mission accomplished' for the economic down turn?

And just how MANY times will Obama and Biden keep giving us good news ? This is like the 4th time Obama or one of his lackeys, tells "us" how GREAT everything is going and it's all so upbeat and GOOD. It's not even close. The BEST news he has is a 2% reduction in unemployment, from 10.2 to 10. That's GOOD ? His nightmare Stimulus was intended to deliver JOBS across the country and save companies from laying off more people. Well, that HASN'T happened except in Obamas "fantasy world". Guess he missed the exposure of his "stats" as being false and misleading. Unemployment should be reported based on ALL the categories, not just "lost" jobs. That puts it at 17 %. Obamas "blowing" more smoke into peoples faces !

  • What part of "we still have a long way to go" suggested to you "mission accomplished"?

More importantly, Bush put his "Mission Accomplished" banner up while we were still clearly on the upswing in casualties and on the downswing in progress in Iraq.

Obama simply pointed out that the early signs are good. The job loss rate is now less than 1.5% of what it was under Bush. That's right, kitten. Last year the job loss rate was 450% MORE per month than it was in October; only to have a full 90% drop in the job loss rate from October to November this month. In January of this year, when we were still under Bush's economic plan, we lost 700,000 jobs that month. In November, we lost 11,000. THAT'S IT!

The Stock Market is up over 50%. Housing prices have stabilized everywhere and have gone up in a number of places. Gross Domestic Product and the worth of the average American were also both up last quarter and doing better this quarter (last quarter it was 3.5% and 1% respectively).

Obama never said anything that could be construed as Mission Accomplished. But he did simply point out that we are definitely heading in the right direction. And Bush couldn't say that last year. Technically, Bush couldn't say that any year he was President, but that was especially true last year.

    Add-on:

First of all, we weren't the ones who mischaracterized Bush's "Mission Accomplished."

Secondly, you cannot mischaracterize Obama's "Mission Accomplished," mostly on the grounds that it DOESN'T EXIST. He never said anything that could even remotely be construed as saying that we are done fixing the economy.

I reiterate that his statements show that we are on the right track, but not at the end of the track. We've got some time to go yet, and Obama's message clearly shows that.

the mission doesnt come due til on or after the next election.... it completely avoids accountability...

I think it seriously sidesteps doing the work and accomplishing things inthe here and now.
