Poverty in America: What are the key factors that contribute?

I think one reason is that people take the easy way out. When they are young they do not take the long term view so they do no acquire a skill which allows them to make a decent living. I think they have grown to assume that success will automatically come. Unfortunately they pass this attitude down to their children and a dependence on government handouts continues generation after generation.

Also, I think that what we call "poverty" would be a step up for most of the world. Do a search and see what is considered poverty in the US. I think you will be surprised.

Women having more children can they can afford to raise contributes to poverty. Dead-beat dads who don't contribute to the raising of their own children are just as responsible for poverty. Seldom do I see only-children living in poverty. It's usually women raising four or more children on one income.

If women would just delay having children until they are at least 25, I think they'd realize they need to have fewer children.

Poverty in America is relative. Most people would rather be poor in the USA than rich anywhere else.

Greed. People would rather spend money on themselves, then donate. people would rather get more money then give money. just pure heartless people too, contribute.
