who would know about programming universal remotes?
I have a friend that has an Emerson TV--don't know how old though. Also has a magnavox DVD/VCR combo player. Lost the remote. Has a universal remote but does not know how to get it programmed. Any help would be appreciated.

Those remotes come with a manual and all of the codes to the different devices they can control are in it. If your friend lost the booklet try emailing the company of the remote they may be able to send you a copy. The manual should also have step by step instructions on programming it for the TV and the DVD/VCR combo.
