Can you become District Attorney if you are non Chrisitian? (USA)?

When you become D.A. in the United States, you have to swear on the BIBLE. This means you must BELIEVE in the Bible to swear on it.

So can Buddhists, Jewish, Muslims or even people without religion become D.A.

Or even can they perform in court, where they swear on the Bible?

you must be able to be sworn to uphold the law. your particular religious belief doesn,t interfere with this. i,m a lutheran, and have had muslim doctors. their education and abilities are the reason i see them. their religious beliefs are their personal business.

You can ask to be sworn in on something other than the bible if it doesn't follow your religion. So to answer your question, yes you can be a D.A without being a Christian.

You do not have to be a Christian to become a District Attorney or anything else for that matter in the USA.

Affirmations of truth do not have to include Bibles or anything at all. Just affirm to be truthful. There is no religious discrimination allowed by government. So I agree with the first answerer.
