What have you done/achieved this year that you can be proud of for a long time to come?

I planted a tomato garden for my elderly neighbors...aged 88 and 89. They had been married since WWII. Both loved gardening but no longer we able to do it.

While I could have planted the tomato plants at my house [watered via drip irrigation] and just brought over tomatoes when they were ripe, I put them in pots outside of their living room window, so they could watch them grow from inside their house.

It required me to make morning and evening trips every day to their yard from late April through late September and use a watering can to water the tomatoes [too far to set up drip irrigation], but it made them very happy. They were great people and all their lives had helped others.

The woman died before the tomatoes ripened but she was happily anticipating the harvest. They did ripen before her husband died, and he gave many tomatoes to the people who came to visit him.

I feel good that for the last months of their long lives, they were able to look forward to something with such anticipation.

I gave up smoking. Although I still like the smell of smoke when someone is smoking I have no desire to have a cigarette! The money I've saved has really mounted up and I'm having a spending spree to buy new smoke-free clothes!

I'm almost done with my first semester of my sophomore year in college. That has to count for something.
