    Considering that it is while people are doing business, I will answer with that in mind.

    Disadvantages of Hand-written letters in business:

    1) People will think that you are unprofessional

    2) People may have difficulty reading your handwriting.

    3) People migh have reservations about your company's ability to handle their professional business needs properly, as it doesn't impress them that you are professional in any way.

    4) People may misread what you wrote which could lead to misunderstanding.

    5) People may not bother even calling you up. They just wouldn't waste their time on you.

    Advantages of Hand-written letters in business:

    1) Some people might find it quaint & folksy.

    2) Some people might think you are a small company & want to do business with a company less corporate-like.

    3) Some people might thing that they will get more attention from you being that you're smaller.

    A hand-written letter is more likely to look sloppy and unprofessional. Unless there were special circumstances or the letter was very informal then using a computer printed letter is much preferred.
