how can people be bored with a 600cc bike after 3-6 months?
Ive been riding bikes longer than most people on here have been alive,, & weather I was riding a 250RD Yamaha or the 800 Ducati super sport.. learning its limits was not a 6 month exercise..
still believe a good rider on a small bike beats a big bike with a guy that doesn't have a clue...

If all you are interested in is twisting the throttle and seeing how fast you can go in a reasonably straight line, the 600cc is lame at only 140 to 160 mph. I'm sure you've seen them in the twisties, unable to keep up with a touring bike. Since they can't do corners they need more straight line capability.

So much more fun to be had to pass even decent riders on corners with a smaller, lighter bike – get an RS250, or better yet there should be some decent 250cc 2-stroke racer bargains out now that MotoGP has killed off one of the best classes ever get on the track with one of those and scare litre riders. I don't buy the “outgrow a 250cc in 6 months” myth either – if you cannot have fun on a motorcycle of any size you just aren’t doing it right.

i fully agree to learn the limits of a bike you haven't had for long is not a 6 month exercise and yes i see it all the time all these young ones going out buying big road bikes and killing them selves id always start with a small bike and id never test my limits with it not till im 110% percent with the in's and outs with that bike.and i also agree that you would beat an in experienced rider while your on a smaller bike and in the process he'd most likely loose his life or seriously get hurt on his big bike he has no idea how to control its limits .take care safe riding.

They're blowing smoke.
I've owned a heavy cruiser and a middle weight for quite a number of years and miles and I still find that my daughter's 250 V Star is fun to ride.

I suspect that kind of talk comes from someone who's '600cc' bike sez Schwinn on the chain guard.

chances are those people will be bored with just about any bike they wind up with after 6 months.

Let me know when you find out because it sure happened to me, took about a year though. I'm a big guy and my Gixxer started feeling kind of puny once I honed in my skills, got rid of my chicken strips and starting hitting the track often.
