On an airsoft gun, it says it has 315FPS, But it cant even shoot 300 feet?
Yeah...FPS stands for FEET PER SECOND. In 1 second it can't shoot 315 feet..

300 ft. is a long ways, I have a gun that shoots almost 500, its closer to 480, it does not quite shoot 300 ft though, the bb is not even capable of remaining in the air on a straight course for that long, effective range on airsoft weapons under 500 fps is usually under 200 feet, also, the fps of a gun is measured at the muzzle, at the tip of the barrel, that's how fast its going, 10 feet in front of that its much slower, heavy weight ammo will help your range, try .20 or .20 ammo, it may give you better range if you are using anything heaver or lighter.

im an experienced airsoft player adn 315 fps is at muzzle velocity and it could be more but your only allowed to print certain FPS on the boxes. basicly put it this way if i threw a 90mph fast ball is it gonna reach 90 miles in an hour no it will eventully fall just like an airsoft bb. And also 315 FPS is mainly used for CQB(close quater battles) So you dont need distance just accuracy. The SPEED of fire is never its range

That's 315 FPS at the muzzle.
Airsoft shoots a light projectile designed to lose energy fast and be harmless.
Even if it lost no velocity, to go 300 you'd have to aim about 16 feet high wouldn't you?
Do the math..

Ok you have to really think about this, what they mean by 315fps is the bb is traveling at 315fps. its just like a car if you go 60 mph it doesnt mean u will travel 60 miles in one hour unless u never stop. In other words the say if the pellet/ bb never stopped it would go 315 feet ever second. hope this helped.... by the way had this same question lol i asked the company this is the answer i was told Best Answer please!!!

similar to miles per hour, feet per second is the estimated distance an object could travel at that speed...so basically its saying that if it could stay at that speed, it would travel 315 feet in one second, but since air resistance and other stuff occurs when its shot, its never that

It is never what it says. That's why on websites it says from 300-350fps. That means most guns shoot within that range; sometimes even lower or more. So if it says 315fps, don't expect 315fps on the dot.

Airsoft gun or not, firing any sort of weapon at a shifting vehicle gets you arrested. One plausible fee is discharging a firearm, or taking photos at a shifting vehicle, if a motive force freaks out and crashes you may desire to be arrested for inflicting an accident. to not point out as quickly as I deliver my officers to a guy with a gin call the officers come out with their weapons and/or shotguns waiting and pointed at your buddy. i comprehend you probably didn't want to be observed as fool or dumb, yet please tell your buddy to not reproduce.

That is the muzzle velocity (speed) the projectile leaves the barrel. It has no real impact on the distance the projectile will travel.
