    Here are the 10 least Densely populated states

    From least to more.

    Alaska

    Wyoming

    Montana

    North Dakota

    South Dakota

    New Mexico

    Idaho

    Nebraska

    Nevada

    Utah

    Typically the Mountain states are the least densely populated. -harder to live mountainous areas

    The least densely populated states are usually far from the coasts and from the great lakes.

    Alaska is the least densely populated because of harsh climate.

    Western states not on the Pacific Ocean. Wyoming is probably the most sparsely populated after Alaska.
