Why do you like/dislike Twilight?
I'm really curious. I'm a huge fan of the story and I was wondering why, when it comes to those who dislike it, people become very rude. My guess is because the movies aren't good at all. The movies leave a lot to be desired yet the actors are becoming multi-millionaires. I can see how that would erk a person. But most of the people that are judging it are people that haven't read the books and don't know the story. You can't judge Twilight as a whole because of the movies, right?
I was wondering if YOU like Twilight and why?
and if not, honestly what is it that you dislike so much?
Is it really Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga?
... or is it the hype fueling and supporting horrible movies?

Stephenie Meyer had a mix of mature and teenage/pre-teen themes. Twelve year olds can be reading her series BUT many of the characters pasts can be seen as too mature if a better writter attempted them. Rosalie's past which involves gang rape (not exactly but...). Alice's past which involves being put in a mental institution. Edward's parent's death. Hell, every vampire had to be near death so there goes the 10-14 demographic. In book four, there is IMPLIED sex. There is violence happening far too often to the Mary Sue-esque Bella. A children's book written by ANY mother shouldn't be so mature. If there is vampires (you know, undead, drinks blood, emotional and psychological trauma from seeing everyone else around you die) then she should have went all out and made more action and more character development to handle those situations. Bella and Edward do not change much mentally throughout the series. Twilight is one of those "what you see is what you get" type deals. Shallow to a point. So much more should have been added. Yes, the "true love" concept is infectous but if it takes two seconds to fall in "love" how can it be real? People who attempt that in real life will never achieve a happiness akin to BellaxEdward. Plus, real romances have more interection before the moment arrives, which I doubt there is any.
The hype is terrible. It's good they (the illiterate masses) are reading but terrible they are still illiterate. Too many Twilight fans are online defending this book and lyke tlking lyke morons. You write in correct English or else how can you be taken seriously? A simple spelling error is acceptable but sometimes it's like 8-year-olds are writting. Honestly, take more pride in your obsession. Not that I condone Twilight. Still...
Anne Rice is a decent writter. Sure, semi-steriotypical but it is what it is. More mature than the pixie/vampire musings of S. Meyer's twisted subconscious but decent and well known vampire LITERATURE. Please don't take me wrong here, I semi-bash Twilight but I have read all the novels and seen the series for what it is. I am an avid reader much like the main female protagonist of Twilight. I love A Series Of Unfortunate Events for it's witty and inventive commentaries and Harry Potter is my kami (god) for magical characters. Twilight had a semi-decent start but it's time for the hype and fandom to die. Better writings exist and those who started with Twilight will no doubt find better writings so long as Twilight does not close their minds off completely.

I love love twilight!
However, I know of some people who used to be as adoring fans as I was but, once it started getting so popular, they didn't anymore. Whether because they wanted to be rebels and not follow the crowd or whatever, I think it's because Twilight the movie sucked. BUT! New Moon was awesome :) so whoever judged the saga on Twilight should go watch New Moon because it is sooo much better.
Also, I absolutely hate that some people hate it when they haven't even read it. If you've read it and still dislike it, that's totally fine, in fact, I applaud you for voicing your opinion and going against all those CRAZY fans.

I thought the book was okay-ish. I had read it before the whole Twilight Saga became HUGE
Stephenie Meyer isn't a fantastic writer. She can write but not awesomely if you know what i mean.
Secondly the movie was terrible. Argh it made me feel so stupid because so many thought it was a great movie yet i found it to be boring & such. The hype doesn't help those who dislike it either, just seeing Edward & Bella everywhere is getting annoying.

I was once completed answering your query while it disappeared.. I like Twilight given that it is a laugh. No damage in being entertained and experiencing one other international from mine. It's effortless to get absorbed through this publication. I don't appear for impressive language, plot, or man or woman growth (or anything else you literary nerds appear for in a well publication). It's now not truthfully *that* terrible relating to the ones features, so it is effortless to simply overlook all that and take a look at to benefit from the publication for what it *can* supply me. I do not feel Meyer is " essentially the most mighty writer" in any respect. Especially now not after BD. *shudder* Anyway, while the publication is in comparison to a conventional, then you understand that character one million) hasn't learn a unmarried truly conventional two) do not know what they are speakme approximately three) like to make use of plenty of hyperbole. Edit: The under answerers don't seem to be one hundred% correct. I don't learn it and want I have been Bella or begin to think that real love like Edward is in his option to swoop me up and take me away in his white horse. I feel that is bullcrap. And I have obvious plenty of individuals who DO want all that once they learn the books. But I additionally understand plenty of individuals who do not feel like that. Those are very unfair, improper generalizations.

i'm not a fan of the series at all, because i think it's full of cliches and is actually quite poorly written in my opinion. i read the first book of the series (before it became so popular) and didn't think it was that great. it's a mix of both the series itself and the hype surrounding it. i don't understand why something so poorly written and ripe with cliche (in my opinion) is getting so much attention, and is being so overrated as it is.
also, "twi-hards" piss the hell out of me. as does that whole "team edward" and "team jacob" stuff.

i love the book!
i think its because it's about a romance with jacob and edward that bella has to be very care full about and that no vampire book has been written like this and the way edward and the other vampires live

People would only waste their time disliking or **** talking it because it's popular, they're complete tools because they try not to be tools... funny
