I look only for information. I keep the ammunition in drawers close to where I need it. Information is power. For whoever has it. Here you see a lot of accusations, this is what children do. There is a lot of slander towards people or groups. I refer to one group as "The Head n the Sand People" I do not mean this as slander, I mean it as the way they talk. They have either no facts or they do not use facts. They use some sight nobody has ever heard of and try to discredit the places that have very good information with world recognition. A example of the sources they try to discredit would be NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), and they would use Butterball Scientist Inc. as a better source.

There's been darn little 'news' on the news for a long time. Network news is thirty minutes, better than half of that is commercials, lead ins, filler, teasers and idle chatter. Then there's the 'fluff pieces'. How much do we have to know about Tiger's 'woody'? Maybe...'maybe'...there's some news, but most of it is stuff you've heard before. There are no hard hitting editorials as there used to be and the personalities are as bland as yogurt. Why all those dumb @ss right wingers get all excited over the 'mainstream news' is a real mystery. Then there's all of the right wing radio dummies. Wow..I didn't know that Barack was not only a muslim, a communist, a socialist, a smoker and a member of a racist church, but he's also....black! MSNBC does exposes on the antics of the right, but even that's getting old. Newspapers? I dunno....the Shopping News and the Penny Saver at least serve a purpose. None of the old time newspapers even exist anymore except maybe by name. It's like buying a Schwinn bicycle made in China...yeah, 'ya get the name, but that's about it. If you want real news get a short wave radio and listen to the BBC....the US 'news' situation is all about propaganda, entertainment and mind dulling nonsense. Remember folks, you heard it here first!

The first problem is "watching"news. Major media in this country is not news, nor do you get information there. I try to get my news from independent sources on the internet mostly. The media has become a tool for the government to give people ammunition and keep their 2 party facade going with out us knowing any better. Politicians on both sides are in it for the same thing,... money and power. If you don't see that, you aren't paying attention.

I watch FOX news when I want ammunition to use against Neo-Conservatives. FOX is self discrediting new service and pretty much everything on there you can use against Neo-cons because they can't say that ti isn't true or that it's a liberal conspiracy, because it's hard line neo-cons saying it.

If I want actual news (information, not ammunition) I usually try European news services such as the BBC, or local news papers/stations.

The national/network news isn't what happens in real life. It's what the sponsors of the new station want you to think happened.

Wouldn't most people say that they are looking for information?

The problem is that most would only consider what agrees with their preconcieved conclusions as info. and the rest will be tossed away as propoganda.

This problem is referred to is called "confirmation bias." "People can reinforce their existing attitudes by selectively collecting new evidence." See below.

I incredibly have a youthful son and if something occurred to him like those little ones at Columbine... i could be going after the two men that killed him! those 2 men committed suicide as quickly as they shot up the college and everyone in it. would not look that grow to be sufficient justice in my view!

With the exception of NPR and PBS News--there is no news service in the United States. all other news channels are just propaganda wings for various political ideologies.

Source(s): I get all my news from BBC World News Service (since they report news that is important to me, not Britney Spear's latest alcoholic endeavor) NPR, and the Economist. I also read Novaya Gazeta in Russian for news from my culture.

Depends on which source...if its CCN, yes, I am looking for information. If I happen across Fox, I am usually left desperately looking for facts.
